A day in the life of a Housekeeping Attendant (starting times may change, below is an example of how your day could look like)
08:30 During the morning briefing, you will receive the room lists so you know which rooms you will be working in today. And there is of course a time for a cup of coffee or tea to start your day.
08:45 You collect your trolley from the service pantry and you make sure everything is there so you do not need to be running up and down. You will start cleaning the first room from your list.
11:30 Time for your well-deserved lunch break but this is flexible based on your schedule or your preference. Enjoy the lunch in our canteen together with your colleagues.
12:00 After lunch you continue with your list until it is completed.
15:00 You have finished cleaning your rooms, and after the floor supervisor has inspected them all you will make sure everything is ready and back in place for the following day.
16:00 Now it is the time to prepare for tomorrow and replenish your trolley.
16:30 Time to go home! Thank you for today.
Tasks you will be doing:
- Vacuum rooms and corridors
- Change and replenish bed linen, towels and guest amenities in line with company guidelines
- Undertake regular deep cleaning tasks
- Restock and maintain trolley on daily basis
- Report any missing or damaged items to the Housekeeping Supervisor and own the responsibility to ensure that the items are replaced or repaired so to create an uninterrupted or impaired stay for the Guest
- Ensure that all equipment inside and around guest rooms as well as in work areas and used when performing housekeeping responsibilities is in working condition
- Be environmentally aware
- Dispose of waste accordingly
- Manage guest requests in a timely and efficient manner
- Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
- Carry out lost property procedures
